## Publish and discuss
Use the post composer available in your feed. Review your content and attachments before publishing. Use comments to keep follow-up discussion attached to the original update.

## Posts and direct messages are different
A group post belongs in the group's feed. A direct message is a chat with its recipients, not an announcement to the group. See [Send direct messages](/articles/direct-messages/).
